DIY – Making a school cone – Mermaid
The ‘mermaid’ model Many girls love these enchanting mythical creatures and are fascinated by their glittering fins. What's more, the shape of the school cone is perfect for turning it into a mermaid's tail. Shop the look!
Additional materials required: a blank school cone, liquid glue, crepe paper, glitter and a paintbrush
DIY instructions:
1. Separate the large leaves from the stem, colour them with the desired colour and leave to dry.
2. Apply transparent liquid glue to the dried large leaves with a paintbrush and sprinkle glitter over them. Do the same on the back.
3. Glue the two leaves together with a hot glue gun to form a fin shape. Then glue the fin part to the tip of the school cone.
4. Separate the small silver leaves from the twigs and round them off a little with scissors if necessary. These will be used for the fish scales.
5. Now glue the small leaf fish scales onto the tail fin with hot glue. Start from the bottom and work your way up in a staggered pattern. It is best to glue the first scales onto the base of the fin. This creates a nice transition. To ensure that the schoolchild can hold the cone securely, we only attached the scales to the lower part of the cone and left the middle part free.
6. Finally, we attached a satin ribbon to the upper edge of the fish scales with hot glue.
7. The upper part of the school cone was decorated with the remaining fish scales.
8. The crepe paper is now attached to the inside edge. We don't want all the sweets to fall out. Now add a piece of satin ribbon to tie it up and the mermaid school cone is finished.
We wish all school starters a great first day at school!
